DVD Shrink quit working

I have been using DVD Shrink on my Windows 7 computer for some time now, and never had any problems. Today I tried to use it, and after about 15 seconds, it closed itself out. It did this multiple times. So I tried running my 1st step software and then running DVD shrink, and it worked one time. But then it went back to closing out again, every time I try to open it. It also has a red border around the window that I've never seen before. I checked your FAQ section and it refers to users of Win7 having trouble and I should see 2 links that are dead - they lead me to a 404 page. Like I said, it worked fine on this computer a couple weeks ago, it shouldn't have a problem working now. I would appreciate help.

I've personally never experienced any of this so I couldn't verify the tips given. It's also the first time I hear about a red screen, wanna upload a screenshot to imageshack or something? Also browse this forum, there are some links with people having similar problems.

If you use Avast or another program like it fro antivirus it is the problem. It sees Shrink as a threat and is putting it in the Sandbox and then shutting it down. Just tell Avast or whatever to run Shrink normally and it should take care of the problem. That is what the red line border is all about.

I'm using Avast myself without any of these problems. Maybe he's using a certain feature that interferes?

Make sure your Data Execution Protection (DEP) settings are listing DVD Shrink as an exception if you have it enabled for all programs.
