Copywrite protection error with Windows 7

Postby dublinrag » Mon Jun 27, 2011 8:03 pm

I have tried to backup two movies with DVD Shrink 3.2 with my Windows 7 (tower) computer, but as soon as I try to open the drive with the movie I get "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue", "Copy Protection Error", "Incorrect Function". I then tried to backup the same two movies with my laptop running Windows XP and everything works perfect. Does Windows 7 perform some check on movies that causes the copy protection error to occur? I searched through the forum but did not see anyone else having this problem, but did see several places stating that DVD Shrink does work with Windows 7. Any guidance would be appreciate, thank you.

DVD Shrink hasn't been updated in years, it works in Win7 but doesn't break copyright protection, you'll need the free version of DVD Fab, once backed up to your HDD then use DVD Shrink to shrink

Thank you, I'll do some research on "DVD fab" and give it a try. Thanks, again...

Im using windows 7 the 64 bit version, dvd shrinks work great on it thus far, download "ripit4me" which works with both dvd shrink and dvd decrypter to help remove dvd copy right protection. Although ripit4me has not been supported for a long time like dvd shrink, but it has removed on copy protection on some of the new dvds, while failed on others. But its free like dvd shrink an worth the shot, also this software once open can will open dvd decrypter for you automatically. Which will means this software works dvd decrypter to help remove copy protection then opens dvd shrink to compress the dvd movie and finally checks your files before burning.

What is so different between windows vista and windows 7? They're practically the same OS just newer and more up to date security. Whats so different? I don't notice any speed difference between the 2. In fact on my new PC, Windows XP is fastest . I don't understand what makes windows Vista and Windows 7 so different. So whats the difference?
