auto burning with DVD Decrypter ?

Postby knightrider56 » Thu Nov 25, 2010 7:34 pm

Hi:
I was running DVD Shrink and Decrypter together. I would rip with Decrypter, compress with Shrink, and then burn wirh Decrypter. It worked great. Suddenly Shrink isn't automatically handing it over to Decrypter anymore to burn.

Can someone tell me how to reconfigure Shrink to do that or is there a special version of Shrink that dose this?

Help please. It was working like a dream. Now it makes me manually do it. Help please.

So what does it say under Backup > Select Backup Target when you open the pulldown menu?

not sure why this guy never responded, but i'm confused as to this as well. i just installed DVD shrink on a gateway computer with XP and i am having to download AnyDVD or dvdfab to get around this problem. And both of those programs only offer a free trial version.

when i go to backup and then backup target, it gives two options: ISO image file and the hard disk folder.

To get around what problem? Shrink's burning capabilities are independent of any ripping software installed on your machine. If you want to burn automatically get the hacked version that supports ImgBurn and you'll get another option in said pulldown-menu.

sigh. to get around the problem that the original poster clearly wrote out.

like the original poster, on my old desktop i am able to rip and then burn through DVD Shrink. installing DVD shrink now, i can no longer rip and then burn all through Shrink. other programs need to be used. i'm not sure why this needs to be explained to a moderator, but there it is.

regarding the hacked version...of what? DVD Shrink I am assuming? Imgburn? More complete help and information would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

READ the FAQ. Under DVD Shrink location. What does the fifth one say?

You can get DVD Shrink with burning through ImgBurn. ImgBurn is DVD Decryter without the decryption.

BTW, I never saw the need for this. After DVD Shrink finishes it job, it requires you to pull out the DVD and place a blank DVD to burn. With a few mouse clicks fire up whatever burning program you want and tada burning will happen.

To the OP, who vanished. Why would you use DVD Decryter then DVD Shrink. Both died about the same time in terms of decrypting DVD's because of the latest protections. The best option was to use DVD Shrink to shrink and call home to DVD decrypter for burning.

LOL, "sigh", really? I don't know what the heck is so complicated for you (or the OP) when it's already been spelled out here and in the FAQ. Then again, you asked about free versions of ripping tools here instead of at the respective sources...
Anyway, Shrink burns with the tools available, like

- CopyToDVD (rarely used by anyone)
- Nero (no longer possible since the Ahead morons changed the commands to call up their engine)
- DVD Decrypter (outdated as a ripper but still feasible as a burner)
- ImgBurn (either renamed to "dvddecrypter.exe" to fool Shrink or called from the hacked Shrink_with_ImgBurn)

Depending on what tools are installed they will be listed in the target device pulldown menu. Can't be that difficult.

Yes, it can be that difficult. I know, since you condescend more than anyone in recorded history on a message board forum, it is impossible for you to actually comprehend this. But I chose not to get the hacked version of DVD Shrink. I found how, but chose not to pay for it. So, therefore, believe it or not, and I know it might be hard for this to get through to you, Chet, but I have the regular version of DVD Shrink and I have to burn a DVD separately with ImgBurn. It's not that big of a deal, but it is far from the automatic process that you seem to love to tout from your high horse.

It is not spelled out at all in the FAQ in how to have ImgBurn incorporated with DVD Shrink, unless you get the hacked one. And thankfully, I am sure I am not alone. I realize, Chet, that you think everyone is an idiot, and maybe they are...everyone except for you.

That said, even though you helped little, it is not that big of a deal for me to use DVD Shrink in addition to ImgBurn. I know now to hesitate and rarely ask questions in this forum and go elsewhere where people are more helpful and more hospitable.

I don't think you still understand. I try again.

1. Install ImgBurn.
2. Under DVD Shrink locations choose the fifth option. Copy and paste this into your browser.
Code: Select all
1ef9af648e73a64d0bae615f77fa673d *DVD Shrink 3.2.exe

3. Once you download this, you will have the "hacked" not "scammed" DVD Shrink exe file. Copy and paste the exe file over the DVD Shrink installation folder.
Fire up DVD Shrink and now under Backup Target you will have the option that's in the photo above.

To address your concerns:
The problem is this has a lot of this stuff has to be re-explained over and over and I do see why it might drive someone uneasy. We are here to volunteer but its the posters responsibility to read the FAQ section on every message board. If something is not clear, then ask a specific question as to what your couldn't figure out by reading first.

Right. Except that both regular and hacked version are free and I don't know what not having to pay for it has to do with anything.

johnd2442 wrote:It is not spelled out at all in the FAQ in how to have ImgBurn incorporated with DVD Shrink, unless you get the hacked one.

Really? So what's this then:
FAQ wrote:Therefore if want to keep automatic burning and have DVD Decrypter installed on your machine you can copy over 'ImgBurn.exe' and rename it to 'DVDDecrypter.exe' so Shrink uses it with 'ISO Image File and burn with DVD Decrypter' selected as your backup target.

Who's the idiot now?
