DVD Shrink causes computer to hang

After DVD shrink is running for maybe 1/3 of the way through its operation it always hangs my computer. THis happens on every disc that I am trying to copy. My son's computer with DVD shrink has no problem with the same discs. So, has anyone seen this?

What are the differences in the computers?

No real differences in computers...both have WinXP and both have Athlon micros in them. They have different applicaton programs installed on them, so maybe there is a conflict between DVD shrink and an app? I can try selectively shutting down the apps and see if it begins to work consistently?
