Nero not recognized

Postby rpvh » Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:05 pm

I am using Nero 9 and DVD Shrink on Windeows 7.
When I use 'Back Up' in DVd Shrink, it keeps stating: "to enable burning, please install Nero'.
But Nero is installed...

Anyone any idea what to do?

Use Imgburn instead.

I do have the same issue after buying the full version of Nero 9 and finished installing it, I run into the same problem. My OS is Win XP 32bit. Before when I only install the old Nero, I was able to use the DVD Shrink but not this time, why? any suggestions or patch that is needed? please help...

Sure, ask the Nero guys why the heck they changed the parameters to hand over to burn from external applications or drop Nero bloatware entirely and burn with ImgBurn.

Pity I did not know this when I bought the expensive Nero software.
I did it because DVD shrink asked for it, and when I burned "standalone" from the Shrink made files, my DVD player always replied:
"disc not compatible"
Since it was no problem with that in XP I decided that it was needed to make everything work
Maybe its best to take away that notice in the DVD shrink software so that NERO is not getting so much costumers because of it?
I would not have bought it if it was not for this.

Which is impossible since development ended years ago as mentioned in the FAQ!

I'd rather say people should read the info available to them prior to purchase like on our page and the Shrink help file:
dvdshrink.org wrote:The output from DVDShrink can be saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn with software of your choice.

Not to mention the fact there's a downward arrow for "select backup target" indicating a pulldown menu with other options. Also, what stopped you from testing the free Nero trial instead?

I too have this problem I'm using XP Home and DVD Shrink was working fine with Nero 6 until I upgraded to Nero 9 now I have uninstalled both programmes and am about to re-install. My question is therefore which programme should I install first Nero 6 or DVD Shrink? I have read the FAQ's but I didn't find any reference to Nero.

Really? So how about the section titled

Problems with Nero

that says

uninstall both Shrink and Nero and reinstall (not just copy over exes!) Nero before DVD Shrink.

Does changing the Priority of transcoding in Nero vision effect the Quality? I'm burning a Video from Nero Vision and i wanna know if changing the Priority of the "Transcoding streams" Phase effect the finished quality?
