I have been using FAB and shrink, when I copy SONYpictures, Hostle Fun with Dick and Jane only the extras are there and director cuts. The movie is black. Anyone else having this problem and what settings do I need to fix to get the movie or how to I avoid this happening?

I was just coming here to ask the same things. I have had three previous movies which gave me trouble, Snatch, Schindlers List Disc 1, and the last I can't recall. All of which I have been able to fix by either using another dvd-rw, or using another program such as DVD Decrypter or DVD Fab. If they don't work, I create an image with them and then load it into shrink. On both of these movies, none of those options worked. So I tried just straight copying the files to the hard drive, and then organizing them in the correct manner (had more than just AUDIO_TS & VIDEO_TS folders, thought this may be it). However, doing this crashed my computer. After playing with it some more, I found there are four files from Fun w/ Dick & Jane that if you copy, they crash windows. These are also the same files that caused DVD Decrypter to get a large number of read errors, and over all fail. I just saw some other programs recommended on this forum, DVD Region+CSS, which I'm going to try. I'll post the outcome...
Not sure how sony is making these hard to rip while maintaining dvd playback in players. Not like you can release a new standard or new encryption without effecting the playability of these on older players.

That did the trick, Install DVD Region+CSS, it runs as a process in the background and allows DVD Shrink to operate as normal. I didn't try it, but other members suggested AnyDVD, that may work as well.

ripped fun with dick and jane with shrink and region css today (main movie only) with no problem only took about 10 min total. since there are both versions(widescreen and full frame) on this disc i recommend main movie only backup to ensure quality.
