DVD Shrink is a transcoder not an encoder and therefore does not change aspect ratio. You can verify this by loading both original and shrinked video into PgcEdit and marking the main title in the left pane and selecting Info > Streams.

Hi again

It's very weird, the info is the same for the DVD and for the Rip, but when the Rip plays, it takes shape of 4:3, and the DVD as it should 16:9, how is that possible ??

It's in every player, WM, VLC and classic player ...

Hi

Well, the funny thing is, when the files are burned back to a DVD, it takes the shape of 16:9 again, thow something around the menu's don't turn back to 16:9, but keeps the 4:3 and are cut so you can't se all of it :?:

Played on another machine over the net, the files allso plays in 4:3, so something most go wrong when ripping with DVD Shrink...

But have to leave the hose now, but will try to rip the DVD with another program when i get back...

I though the decoder installed to your PC migh be messed up but since it's also on your other PC. I'm also not sure if VLC has it's own decoders for mpeg2, it does so for mpeg4...

Well, i just coded it in 16:9 format, ofcourse that's a bit annoying, but till i find out what's causing the problem, i'll have to do that...

I don't know what it is, cause sometimes when i start a file from the DVD, it does the same thing - but when opening the hole DVD in ex. VLC it plays in 16:9 format, it's an very odd thing...

Well, what did i do ? ;-)

I removed all codecs from my machine, and remembered that i installed the latest Xvid codec the other day, i thoght that would be a good thing, but turns out that i wasn't - i had k-Lite istalled too...

Then i installed k-Lite again, and now it's all fine again :)

So that's my weird story, with a fine ending :)
